Welcome to the home page of the Junior Golf Academy at Arbutus Ridge. Edd’s passion to produce one of the finest junior programs began when he turned professional in 2000. The goal of the Junior Golf Academy is to introduce young players to the game at an early age and watch them mature to young accomplished junior golfers. Edd’s programs allow students to meet their own goals, whether it’s just learning the game or striving to achieve their dreams of competing for golf scholarships at colleges and universities the Junior Academy will help them succeed.

Edd’s goal for each individual student is to help them to work towards accomplishing their golfing dreams. Edd’s own achievements in playing on recognized tours and winning National, Provincial and Collegiate titles give him the know-how and passion to help young golfers become future champions.

The Junior Academy programs have been developed to meet the needs of the beginner to the challenges of the college scholarship hopeful. The choice between private lessons, coaching programs, summer/spring golf camps and elite programs gives young golfers the opportunity to have lots of fun learning the game in a nurturing environment which encourages them to raise their game to the next level.

Edd’s programs work. With Edd’s guidance and coaching experience, his successful students have become provincial champions and have received full scholarships to Canadian, American and Scottish universities.

The GBC Academy teaching facilities have recently undergone renovations to the driving range and the new short game area. These facilities will help develop our aspiring juniors in one of the most scenic environments that Vancouver Island has to offer. The full length practice facility features 5 target greens, a sand bunker, putting/chipping green and twenty stalls. The new short game facility features artificial and grass teaching areas, 2 bunkers and a 5000 sq. ft. green. These facilities allow Edd to provide a safe environment and professional instruction in one of Canada’s premier teaching academies.

The Junior Academy is built on the fundamentals of teaching students that golf can be fun and is a game for life. The prospects for these junior golfers go far beyond their school years.
